I am a personal trainer and online coach based in Colchester, Essex.
However, being an online coach means I can coach anyone in the world from the comfort of their own home, reducing the time commitment by having no commute to a gym and therefore giving much more flexibility.
Mothers or fathers with young children, elderly, those who are intimidated by a gym environment, anyone with a busy schedule! These are all examples of people who might benefit from wanting 1-2-1 sessions with a personal trainer but may have limited time.
Or maybe you have trained before, have a basic knowledge of fitness and would prefer to follow a bespoke exercise and nutrition plan on your own without the need for 1-2-1 sessions?
These are both options of coaching I offer!
What are the benefits of hiring a personal trainer / online coach?
- Improved muscular and cardiovascular health, brain function and memory, body composition, skin health, self esteem, moods, sleep quality, insulin sensitivity, energy.
- Increased stability, mobility, cognitive function, pain tolerance, metabolic rate, bone density, confidence, muscle mass.
- Decrease early ageing, chronic pain, blood pressure, blood fat levels, cholesterol, fat percentage, risk of osteoporosis, fatigue, reduce pain from chronic diseases, prevent some chronic diseases, depression, anxiety and feelings of isolation.
Exercise is the most under prescribed solution to a never ending list of physical and mental conditions. During and after exercise the brain releases endorphins, which are the ‘feel good’ hormones in your brain, there are no negative side effects to exercise and you only need to do 20 minutes minimum a day to improve your lifestyle and health.
If the benefits of exercise could be packaged in a pill, it would be the most widely prescribed and beneficial medicine in the world, so why not start now!
Where should I start if i’m totally new to exercise?
Start small, by going for a 20 minute walk every day! You will have accomplished something amazing for the day and boosted your productivity, it doesn’t have to be a fast walk but try and keep the pace up a bit.
- Exercising around nature has proven to reduce the cortisol levels in the brain (the stress hormone) reduces anxiety, lower blood pressure, increases vitamin D from sunlight exposure (which the body immunes us against diseases like osteoporosis, some cancers, diabetes and the functioning of the immune system)
- Increase in fresh air and cleaner oxygen (If you live in a busy city then this is extremely important to be around nature)
- May help clear your mind from troubles, studies show when walking in nature compared to a busy town or city, the mind can wonder to less stressful thoughts, therefore reducing cortisol levels and helping productivity.
I don’t have any equipment and limited space, will I still benefit?
You can perform exercise in a 6×6 foot room if that was all the space you had! Bodyweight training, HIIT training, walking, yoga, mobility work are all things that I can implement into your desired workout plan – Completely individualised to each person and designed around their particular love for any type of fitness.
What will my diet consist of whilst being coached by you?
I don’t believe in restrictive diets, pills, quick fixes, skinny teas, ‘syns’ or cutting out any food group or treat.
There is absolutely no need to completely cut out cake, chocolate, pizza or whatever your favourite ‘naughty’ food is that makes you feel guilty whenever you eat it.
You will not ruin your progress with one ‘bad’ meal, as long as you are consistent with your exercise and eating a diet filled with mostly natural, whole foods.
You can treat yourself regularly with the right guidance and this will be much more sustainable in the long term.
You have two different choices when being coached by me..
- Flexible calorie and macronutrient tracking includes: Your individual set calories and macronutrients based around your desired body composition/performance goals, using a flexible varied diet of your choice within your set calorie allowance – You will be given my nutritional booklet with nutritional advice, an explanation of macronutrients (Fats, carbohydrates and protein) and good sources to use, how to use the MyFitnessPal to track your energy intake and learn about how food/your diet will compliment your goals, easy home recipes and ideas (included in both coaching options)
- Set calorie and macronutrient meal plan includes: The exact same is included in the set meal plan option as the flexible option, however your meals will be calculated for you and set to specific meals each day with the option to have alternating weeks of different meals.
(This option has an additional fee per month on top of your coaching and may be more suitable for someone who has either less time, or doesn’t want to think about what they can include in their diet and just follow a set plan)
